As recitals draw closer, there’s a lot of information to cover for the remainder of the year! The Y2K Dance West Remix Recital Performance Packet Form will be your all-in-one resource for everything you need to know about recitals.

Quick Changes at Recital: If your child(ren) has a quick change (more than one costume worn during one show), the studio will be reaching out to you separately.
- All of your costume changes should be dropped off with your child(ren) when you check in at the recital.
- Make sure all shoes are included in your child(ren)’s dance bag(s). All costume pieces, including tights and hairpieces, should be stored together in the costume bag.
- Staff will handle all costume changes.* You can just sit back and enjoy the show!
*This applies to our Recreational shows on May 31st. Our Competition Show follows different protocols for quick changes and parents backstage.
Picture Week is February 23rd – 26th.
This is for our all of our programs this season.
Meghan Elizabeth Photography will be at the studio to take individual and group photos. This year we will be taking group photos as a physical group like we did last year.
- There will be no Recreational and Performance Team classes this week. Competition classes are happening on a modified schedule.
- The picture week schedule is slightly different from your normal class time – view the schedule linked below.
- One parent should stay and wait in the lobby until your dancer is done – pictures will last approx. 20-30 min per class.
- Arrive 5-mins before your scheduled time – it may be different from your usual class time.
- Dancers should arrive completely ready to go (full hair/make-up, costume/tights, & accessories).
- Bring dance shoes and change into them in the lobby.
- If your dancer is in multiple classes – you may use the restroom to change in between picture times.

- Your dancer completely ready in costume with hair/make-up
- + all costume accessories (hats, hair pieces, etc)
- Provided recital tights (Weissman brand) – hip hop costumes with pants do not wear tights
- Dance shoes (chart in the Picture Week Details below – all available in the Dance West store)
The last week of class is May 17-22. During the last week of class parents and guardians will be invited in for the last 10-15 minutes of class to watch their dancer’s recital dance(s), celebrate their year, and get final details about dress rehearsal and recital.
No classes will be held May 23-29.
- Anyone who purchased recital souvenirs a la carte will receive their purchases from their teacher during the last week of class. Recital t-shirts will be passed out during class as soon as they’re available.
- Attendance is very important for this last class, as we will be going over important Recital Weekend information. However, if you have to miss your dancer can still participate in the recital.

Our Dress Rehearsal is a part of our 2026 Recital Weekend! Our on-stage dress rehearsal is designed to help our dancers channel their nervous energy in a supportive environment before the big show. It allows dancers to familiarize themselves with the theater space, adjust to the lighting and sound, and perfect their routines in front of an audience. By performing in full costume and makeup, our dancers can gain valuable experience and confidence on stage.
Please note that only one parent per family can attend dress rehearsal. This is an excellent opportunity for you to capture photos and videos, as we do not permit photography or videography during recital shows. We can’t wait to see everyone shine on stage!
*Competition and Performance Team dancers do not have dress rehearsal times. The exception to this is dancers taking pointe. Your dress rehearsal time is 3:05 – 3:20 pm on May 30th.

- Tickets will be $20 (+ taxes + ticketing fees).
- Lap children ages 3 and younger are permitted and do not require a ticket.
- Dancers performing in the show do not need a ticket, as they remain backstage
Is this your child(ren)’s 5th year at Dance West (or previously Platinum Dance West) and they haven’t previously received a 5 year award? Please fill out the 5 Year Award section in the Y2K Dance West Remix Performance Packet 2025.
Our Recital Package and Souvenirs will be avaible for purchase starting March 2nd.
