A Philadelphia born native, Sierra Clark is a modern/contemporary dance artist based in Minneapolis. As well as choreographing her own works, she has been teaching dance at youth studios for six years in styles such as ballet, contemporary, jazz, and modern. While studying business management at Temple University, she trained in modern dance with the Danco 2 Apprentice Company at Philadanco under the direction of Donald T. Lunsford II. As well as rehearsing and performing with the company, she trained in techniques such as Horton, Graham, and classical and contemporary ballet under the direction of founder and Executive Artistic Advisor, Joan Myers Brown, and Artistic Director, Kim Y. Bears-Bailey. Sierra has also had the pleasure of dancing with contemporary companies such as Empire Dance Company, led by founder and artistic director Bree Jacobs, and IRIS/Dancers, led by founder and artistic director India Scott. With these companies she has performed various works at showcases and competitions in the New York/Philadelphia metro area such as World of Dance and Dixon Place. Most recently Sierra has embarked on a pursuit to further develop her own choreographic portfolio, having presented her first full-length choreographic work, Mood, at the 2025 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. She has had the honor of presenting her work at various showcases such as Koresh Dance Company’s artist showcase series, and a pre-show opening for BalletX at the Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts.
